SAN MIGUEL OLIVE FARM

In 2006, encouraged by a family member, we began the adventure of olive farming.

We were referred to a reputable olive tree nursery and, with the owner’s help, selected the best Tuscan varietals for our climate zone. As of 2019, we have 1200 olive trees.

Farming has been a daily learning experience for us. Seminars, organizations and other olive growers have shared their knowledge through the years. Farmers helping farmers. We are producing some of the worlds finest EVOO.  

 

  • Watering and pruning as needed
  • Spraying organically to prevent the olive fruit fly
  • Harvesting by hand not to bruise the fruit
  • Using a local milling service for best quality oil

Each year, the California Olive Oil Council certifies the positive sensory EVOO attributes and Baker Labs the chemistry values of our olive oil. Our early harvest produces a healthful, high polyphenol high oleic acid olive oil.This type of olive oil is now being recognized by the FDA and medical profession as being heart healthful and much more.

Our first crop in 2011 surprised and delighted us with highest awards.We have continued winning awards in international, state, and local competitions.

San Miguel Olive Farm is one of the most successful American producers, certified by the judges of the New York International Olive Oil Competition. 2017,2018,2019 Worlds Best Olive Oils.

We take pride in every aspect of our work, sharing the olive farming experience with “hands on” educational tours which include tasting and sales.
